Don't be ripped off - get an independent valuation.
Average of books valued to date: $1,280
Due to other commitments, Book Valuations is closed until further notice.
What will I receive?
You will get a price valuation for the purpose of selling your items. A listing of all sales of identical or similar items sold. Also a comprehensive, targeted guide to the best market places to sell your particular item in order to maximize your profit; including a list of specilaist dealers that may be interested.
Why pay for a valuation when some websites offer to do it for free?
All of them are associated with a store who will try to get your book for bottom dollar so they can sell at a fat profit to their customers. I don't want to buy your book and I have no vested interest in giving you a false price.
But can't I use Google to value my own books?
I don't just use Google: I have access to all major auction houses' and book dealers' databases and back catalogues. A significant number of catalogues are available only in print. You could spend a lot of time valuing your own books and still arrive at the wrong answers.
How much will it cost?
$19.50 (US dollars) per book. There is a discount for bulk lots, please get in touch for a quote.
How do I pay?
I accept all major credit cards. They are processed securely through PayPal. Direct transfers in to my New Zealand bank account are also acceptable.
Can I send you photographs or scans?
I will let you know if that would be helpful and what address to send them to.
How long will it take?
Approximately 2-10 days. If you're in a rush please let me know and I will see what I do.
What if I don't get what you said I would?
Prices vary from time to time and place to place. I can only go on what the same or similar item has sold for in the past. Remember it's an auction price. A retailer will offer you 30-50% of what they are going to sell it for.
Can you sell it on my behalf?
If you wish to remain anonymous I can act as seller for you on commission. Please let me know if interested.
Only one hour in the normal day is more pleasurable than the hour spent in bed with a book before going to sleep, and that is the hour spent in bed with a book after being called in the morning -- Rose Macaulay (1881 - 1958)
